Comme pour les 2e, 3e et 4e éditions, le thème de cette année, "Architecture, Monuments et Urbanisme", est également dérivé de la Collection thématique des échanges culturels le long des Routes de la Soie. Les Routes de la Soie témoignent d'un héritage architectural qui s’étend sur plusieurs millénaires. Ces routes commerciales historiques n'étaient pas seulement des voies d'échange de marchandises, mais aussi d’échanges d’idées, de culture et d’architecture. Les villes qui ont vu le jour le long des Routes de la Soie n'étaient pas seulement d'importants centres commerciaux, mais également des centres culturels et architecturaux, reflétant le cosmopolitisme et la diversité de la région.
